Account Manager, EU Public Affairs

 

Europe Analytica, an award-winning Brussels-based public affairs consultancy specialising in the media, cultural, creative and digital industries, is looking for a highly qualified and talented individual with direct experience of EU policy to join our public affairs team in Brussels, and run a European trade association in the audiovisual field, with an ambition to grow in that role.  

 

Europe Analytica has a long history as a boutique consultancy providing effective public affairs and communications services for over 20 years.

The role:

You will contribute to all the activities of a dynamic public affairs consultancy by:

  • Managing the day to day running (including administrative) of a European trade association active in the film and audiovisual field, our client, as their Secretary General, 

  • Define, jointly with the Board of Directors and implement the association’s strategic vision in line with members’ priorities and EU policy developments.  

  • Advise the Board of Director on strategic choices, risks and opportunities, and anticipate regulatory, political and market trends affecting the sector at a European level, being aware of wider political dynamics, at international- European - national level and how these can impact the interests of the organisation. 

  • Representing the interests of the organisation EU decision makers, stakeholders and other relevant bodies/organisations, planning, executing and delivering EU public affairs strategies for clients. 

  • Having a proactive approach, willingness to take the initiative, and ability to develop and maintain a network of contacts with key stakeholders active in the policy fields.

  • Applying for EU funding to support activities and the development of the client.

  • Working with a team to deliver the public affairs campaigns. 

 

Your credentials:

You must have:

  • An undergraduate degree in law, economics, European studies, or a similar discipline relevant to either European public affairs or the media sector.

  • A postgraduate qualification which is relevant to either European public affairs or specific policy areas of interest (European cultural ecosystem, Media or audiovisual industry) – or comparable professional experience;

  • Professional experience of at least 4 years in public affairs, with evidence of leadership and management experience in a European or international environment, knowledge of EU funding for the media sector is a plus. 

  • Good knowledge of EU decision making processes. Knowledge of European policies that impact the film-audiovisual & news media sector is a plus.

  • Excellent people skills, including the ability to build collaborative relationships both as part of the Europe Analytica team, with the clients and with stakeholders/coalitions;

  • Enthusiasm, a focus on the client, a dynamic, quick-thinking approach to work, a good eye for detail and strong analytical skills;

  • Excellent organisational and project management skills;

  • Required fluent spoken and written English, additional languages welcome.
