Europe Analytica is looking for a new Policy and Communications Assistant!


Policy and Communications Assistant – Europe Analytica Entry level, full-time Preferred start date: early January 2019

Europe Analytica is a Brussels-based public affairs consultancy specialising in the cultural and creative industries. We are looking for a Policy and Communications Assistant to support our team of consultants.

We are looking for someone who has a very good understanding of the EU institutions and decision making processes, a very good grasp of communications. You’ll have a “can do” attitude and the potential to grow within the company. You should also have strong communication and research skills, the ability to write press releases and concise articles and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Role will involve:

  • Overall responsibility for several of our client communications

  • Ad hoc support on all clients to develop advocacy and communications strategies

  • Monitoring developments within the European institutions

  • Summarising reports, writing succinct notes and public affairs documents

  • Support on social media

  • Website management

  • Ad hoc advise on Communications strategy for clients

  • Responsibility for Europe Analytica’s external communication and branding

  • Support for Europe Analytica’s internal communications and website

  • Occasionally general administrative work and office tasks

  • Opportunities for increased responsibility

Requirements:

  • University degree in media and communications would be an asset however, legal and political sciences, international relations and/or EU studies will also be considered

  • Academic/professional experience with audiovisual policy and/or intellectual property rights desirable

  • Knowledge of the EU legislative process

  • Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills

  • Highly organised and past experience in roles as a journalist/communication officer or event management desirable

  • Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines

  • English native speaker

  • Knowledge of French or another European Union language is an advantage

  • Computer literacy, website management, knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media

  • Positive attitude, flexible, team player, sense of humour
